After a long hiatus, one of our company classics returns: The QuestionPro Rickshaw. This eye-catching vehicle grabs attention wherever it goes, but not everyone knows the adventures we’ve had to bring it to you. In this article, we’ll take a look at what it takes to deliver this unique experience.
Our beloved rickshaw, or tuk-tuk, has been full of adventures and anecdotes ever since it crossed the ocean from India to the United States. This microsite is a space where we’ve decided to gather all the stories, lessons, and even a few guest appearances that it has inspired.
The project began by bringing something uncommon to tech spaces, promoting the concept of being disruptive and unconventional in an industry that’s becoming increasingly rigid.
While it might seem simple in theory, this has led to various stories—some amusing and others we might have preferred to avoid (like the time we almost got jailed, for example).

(Don’t worry, it was a misunderstanding 😉 In fact, our vehicle is 100% legal to drive, so you can hop on with confidence.)
But today, we want to tell you how we brought it back to life after a long rest, and we’ll share a bit about its next adventure and how you can be part of it.
The Tuk Tuk resurrection!
Our flagship event, XDAY, is just around the corner, so we thought it would be the perfect time to bring back an old friend: our blue rickshaw. This small vehicle is quite popular in India, where it’s one of the main forms of transportation, but much less common in cities like San Francisco or Austin.
However, after several months of inactivity, we faced the challenge of returning it to life in record time.
First Challenge: Moving it to a mechanic
Result: Fail
Have you heard the old carpenter’s saying, “Measure twice, cut once”? Well, we have to, but sometimes, our optimism gets the best of us.
Second Challenge: Finding a mechanic who could bring it back to life
Result: Success
As we mentioned, this vehicle isn’t very common in the United States, and it’s even rarer to find mechanics who know exactly how to work on them. Fortunately, we found a good Mexican friend with experience (on my recent trip to our Mérida offices, I learned that they’re quite popular in parts of Mexico too—they even import Indian brands of tuk-tuks!).
With a new carburetor and proper maintenance, our rickshaw was ready to hit the streets of Austin and entertain the attendees at our event.
Third Challenge: Getting it ready
Result: Resounding success
With the engine running at 100%, new batteries, a good wash, and a few updates, our rickshaw is more than ready for new adventures.
